SensoroidA Research Platform for Intelligence Emergent Systems based on the Human Body

Abstract

It is said that the body is indispensable for the acquisition of intelligence. Based on this idea, a lot of research has been conducted to elucidate the mechanism of human intelligence using robots and to acquire it. However, it is difficult to obtain data related to all cognitive functions and all developmental periods in a person in robotics studies. In order to solve this problem, we develop a research platform Sensoroid, which acquires multimodal information from a person’s body using multiple wearable sensors. We then use the obtained data to investigate the category formation ability of people during object tasks and show that useful data can be measured.
