ABOUT

Kara@ge++

Kara@ge++ (karaage plus plus)
is organized to participate in the RoboCup @Home.
This team is a part of research projects at NAGAI Lab.
  We love "karaage (deep-fried chicken)" and we use "C++",
that is why the name of our team is Kara@ge++.

The domestic service robots have been extensively studied recently, however no robots come into wide use in real home environments in spite of many efforts by robotic researchers and industry. We have been participating at the RoboCup @Home from 2008 to 2016 (as the core members of team eR@sers) and been trying really hard to make the robots helpful in the real home environment. The lessons learned form the huge experiences of the competitions insist that there are still many issues to be solved concerning the development of domestic service robots. The mission of this team is to develpo technologies for practical domestic service robots!

Kara@ge++ / eR@sers History

Our team "Kara@ge++" is a spin-off from the team "eR@sers" organized in 2007. Prof.Nagai and Dr.Nakamura are core organizers of the team "eR@sers" and have been playing technical roles in the team. In fact, we provided our research results, thereby eR@sers won 1st place twice (2008, 2010) and 2nd place twice (2009, 2012) in the RoboCup @Home world championship (WC). In 2016, we participated at the WC using the HSR first time and won 4th place and innovation award. In Japan open, we won 1st place 6 times, 2nd place once, and 3rd place twice.
